Your Club Path is too Shallow Through Impact

You hit the shaft or umbrella in the downswing!

Solution 2

You must be swinging such that the club path is too shallow through impact. Go through this check list to find out why:

1. Your shoulders are changing levels in the downswing. If you tilt your right shoulder closer to the ground as you swing down to the ball, your spine will tilt away from the shot.

Try to keep your body very still and make sure your height does not change

2. You are losing the angle in your right wrist in an attempt to lift the ball into the air. Check your finish position. Has your right hand scooped under in the downswing?

If it has, make lots of practice swings feeling that your right wrist is very wooden. Use only the motion of your shoulders to keep the clubhead moving in the swing. You should be able to brush the grass after impact
