Conclusion to Sloping Lies in Bunker

Bookmark and Share

By adjusting your address position to the slope, you will be able to find the correct angle of attack for these difficult shots. When you are out on the course you should be aware of the following information:

A ball hit off an upslope will fly higher and land more softly than your normal bunker shot off a flat lie. This means that you will have to be more aggressive than normal.

A ball hit from a downslope will fly lower and run further than a normal bunker shot hit off a flat lie. Therefore you will need more space into which to hit the ball on the green. If there is water behind the flag, then you will have to aim at a wider part of the green.

Practice is vital for playing these shots well and you also need to experience how the ball reacts before you can control your shots out on the course. Time for you to get to work!
