Chip No. 2 – Game 2 - Five Balls Three Tees Advanced

The previous game allows you several attempts to find the right shot, but on the course you have only one chance to pull it off. This game focuses on finding the right distance first time round.

You will need, once again, your trusty 8 iron, five balls and three tees. Pace off 10, 15 and 20 paces from where you are chipping.

Your goal is to complete the following levels to advance your control over distance even further.

Level 1

Play your first ball to the first tee. If you keep the ball within a putter´s length of the tee then you can play for the second tee. If you miss on your first ball then try again until you succeed at tee number one. Your goal is to be able to play a chip to each of the three tees in a row. Count up how many chips it took you to complete the game. Keep a record of your personal best and try to beat the score the next time you play the game.

Level 2

Play your chips to the three tees in random order and see how many shots in a row you can keep within a putter´s length of your target tee. This is a good game to play with a friend. Keep a record of your personal best and try to beat the score the next time you play the game.

Level 3

A fun variation to these games involves even more control. Play the Level 1 and Level 2 games but try to nominate your shot. For example, close to the second tee, but past the tee and on the left of the tee, or close to the third tee but just past the tee on either side. You will find that focusing on a more specific target will heighten your concentration and the precision of your shots. It is that skill which will enable you to perform at your best when you are competing out on the course.
