This is the next area of swing building that you must integrate into your golf game. I will take you through the feelings that you should experience to create the correct motion.

It is important that you build up from the feeling you had to successfully execute the ¼ swing. You can learn or relearn so much from practising these small units. When you come upon a problem build up again from the ¼ swing and gradually increase the motion.
To build your ¼ swing into a ½ swing requires a longer motion of the arms and body. I will explain the key areas of importance and help you learn how this motion should feel.

The ½ swing starts at address with a maximum backswing length of left arm parallel to the ground. From this top of the ½ swing you release the club to a maximum follow through of right arm parallel to the ground.
Most of the key moves in a good golf swing are performed in this abbreviated version of the golf swing. This means that if you work on improving your ½ swing then your full swing is going to become better and better.

I have taken you through the ¼ swing and will show you have it evolves into the ½ swing.
These are building blocks to your swing and by mastering them you will understand YOUR swing motions. You must analyse how your swing matches up to the points that you and I have been discussing.
A video of your swing would be a very useful source of information. When you are looking at your swing, do not diagnose yourself as a terminal case too quickly. Try to watch for the motion of the club.
Where does the club move in the backswing?
Is your address correct?
Are you hinging your club correctly?
Are your arms working correctly?
Try to find the answers to these questions only. It is easy to look for too much and to suffer a death through analysis!
This process that you and I are working on is swing building. I want you to teach yourself by using the exercises.
Remember one thought a thousand times not one thousand thoughts once. If you can sort out the correct timing of the hinging motion of wrists and arms then you are well ahead of the game.
