1. As you study the position of my arms, I want to draw your attention to the relationship of my elbows.

You will notice that my right elbow is just higher than my left elbow. This is very important as this position determines the swing plane of your golf swing.

The plane of your shaft should point between your feet and the ball. You will notice that the shaft lies between my right elbow and right shoulder.

2. Very important also is the positioning of my hands. If I drew a straight line through my hands you will see that they are level with the middle of my chest.

If your hands are either more across your chest or out towards your left shoulder then your arm swing and body turn are not working together as a unit.

You can see that my hands are in the middle of my left elbow and right elbow. Make sure you are in this position by repeating the motion in front of a mirror.

In studying the position of my body, several points should be discussed.

Have a look at your position and run through this check list to make sure that you are establishing the correct early fundamentals:

a. My spine angle has not changed from the address position
b. My right knee is still flexed as it was at address
c. My shoulders are turning on a 90 degree angle to my spine angle. This point is especially important and should be something that you practise until you can turn instinctively into the correct position.
