How to Improve Your Bunker Game

Simplify your bunker shots!

Many people expend a huge amount of energy in bunkers. This is really not required. I will now show you how to prepare for a bunker shot with some ideas on how to address the ball.

Next I will take you through the correct swing motion and make you feel a good bunker shot. Once you have felt the sand wedge moving correctly through the sand, I will show you how to control the flight and distance.

Go through the Instruction section to fine tune your mechanics and then play the Games to fine tune your touch.

Get back in play!

Although you make few trips to the bunker during a round of golf, you need to be able to get back in play. If your bunker play is poor then each bunker represents a potential disaster.

A bunker becomes a stressful area for you and a place where you will spend shots. Use the information in this section to develop a sound technique that you can rely on out on the course.

If you know you can get up and down most of the time, then that is one thing you do not have to worry about.

Note

There will be situations in a fairway bunker where you will aim to strike the ball before the sand.

These lessons explain the theory and mechanics that you will need to play a good bunker shot. If you find that your technique is lacking, then work hard.

All problems in golf can be solved by practising once you understand what you should be doing.

Follow the instrucions and then go on to play the games. Testing your new skills is an excellent way to build confidence.
