Having a good grip is the only way to swing the club correctly. Indeed, you are only as good as your grip. A poor connection with the club means that you will have to compensate by over-using your body. Trust me on this one.

What is a good grip?

Many people worry about how many knuckles are showing or whether you should have a stronger or weaker grip. The real issue is where you hold the club in your hands.

If you throw a ball, you will hold it out in your fingers so that you can create speed and use that very fast wrist joint. If you hold the ball in your fist you cannot throw it very far. The same applies in holding the golf club.

If you never seem to create any power or you feel your swing is very wooden, you should pay special attention to the Grip Instructions.
