Many golfers who lack the distance to reach a par 4 in two shots and a par 5 in three shots can save many shots by improving their skills with the fairway woods.
There are no swing changes required but go through the lesson to learn the correct set up position.
You should have a shallow angle of attack to produce a sweeping motion of the clubhead at impact. To promote this put the ball in line with your left armpit and lean your body away from the ball so that 60% of your weight is on your right foot.
Make your normal golf swing and try to brush the ball off the top of the grass. If the fairway woods are an important part of your game you should allocate extra time in your practice schedule to improve your shots.
